The Milnes VOICE Programs (Savannah VOICE Festival and VOICExperience) are committed to welcoming all. To discriminate is to fail in our mission. We strive to keep from making judgments based on someone’s race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, sexual orientation or identity, age, education, socioeconomic status, or ability. VOICE serves artists and patrons locally and globally, always embracing the ideals of a diverse community. We acknowledge that there is much to be done to raise our voices against hate, injustice, and inequality both in the arts community and in our everyday lives. We are committed to doing our part to make sure everyone feels welcome and valued. We support all who join us in this mission.

About Our Festival
Savannah VOICE Festival and the Sherrill Milnes VOICE Programs were established by world-renowned baritone Sherrill Milnes and his wife, acclaimed soprano, Maria Zouves. Their vision: to perpetuate the legacy of great singing through arts education, artistic training, audience development and community engagement with access for all.
Today the Milnes VOICE Programs continue to honor and fulfill our founders’ vision through a celebration of concerts, educational programs, and community events during the month of August and special presentations throughout the year. We offer performances from opera, musical theatre, and popular song
Join us for our 2025 Summer Festival, Once Upon a Time, as we celebrate the VOICE Programs’ 25 years of educating aspiring singers, honor Maestro Milnes’ 90th birthday, and recognize the 60th anniversary of Sherrill’s debut at the Metropolitan Opera and his great performances at all major opera houses around the world. All Savannah VOICE Festival Season 13 events are held in venues in or near historic Savannah.
We invite you on a fairy tale journey that includes the world premiere of Cinderella’s Royal Feast by Michael Ching, an opera written and presented in collaboration with students from Esther F. Garrison School for the Arts, a concert directed by famed composer, David Friedman, and a celebration of Sherrill Milnes’ career – culminating with Verdi’s Rigoletto, one of Sherrill’s most acclaimed roles.
