The Savannah VOICE Festival’s sister organization VOICExperience hosts several training programs for young artists during the summer, and a year-round program for technical and administrative training. Participants will get the opportunity to learn roles, coach repertoire, attend events, and perform with artists from around the world in our programs.

Milnes VOICE Studio
July 17-30 | Iowa State University, Ames, IA
Focus on your career this summer
The Milnes VOICE Studio offers a variety of opportunities to develop the singer as a whole artist in preparation for your next step, whatever that may be. Not sure what’s next? Our faculty is here to help.
Coach new repertoire and learn new stage skills with our programs. Study a role and coach it with top international faculty. Craft your audition package. This program is tailored to your needs and goals.
Mission: Audition gives you the chance to get feedback from our faculty as you prepare for audition season. Participants in this track of study will come away with new recordings, head shots, career advice, and defined goals.
During the week, singers also participate in career development workshops, with topics ranging from vocal health to personal branding.
This program takes place in person.
COVID-19 safety measures will be in place for the duration of the program.
- Sessions begin around 10am daily, with evening events most days
- Singers can expect one voice lesson and one private coaching each day, unless they are in rehearsal for a role
- Singers can expect at least one group coaching and/or workshop* each day
- Private Coaching opportunities with Sherrill Milnes
In order to provide the best program for our singers, we begin planning as soon as singers are accepted to the program. VOICExperience requests that accepted singers commit to attending the program regardless of the format. Singers should expect both in-person and online program structures to be run as intensives, therefore we do not recommend scheduling other activities during the intensive should it move online. We don’t want you to miss out on all that this program has to offer!

Our Pledge to Artists
The Milnes VOICE Programs recognize and respect the individuality of all artists. The staff and faculty of VOICE pledge to recognize and call out personal and systemic biases. In our mission to grow the artistic community, judgments will be based solely on a person’s musical potential, ability, and desire to learn and grow in the art. VOICE will do this through the creation of welcoming and inclusive environments and anti-discriminatory practices throughout our programs.
